Ajit Doval, India's National Security Advisor, is expected to travel to Russia next week. His visit aims to expedite the delivery of the remaining two S-400 air defense systems from the Russian government.
Potential Request for More S-400 Units
Reports indicate that India might seek additional S-400 units to enhance its defense capabilities. Concurrently, a group of Indian Members of Parliament, led by Kanimozhi, has already arrived in Moscow to discuss India's stance on terrorism.
Significance of S-400 and BrahMos Missiles
India's recent air operations against Pakistan, particularly under Operation Sindoor, highlighted the critical role of S-400 and BrahMos missiles in its defense strategy. Doval's upcoming visit underscores the importance of these military assets as vital components of India's defense shield.
Meeting with Russian Officials
Earlier, the all-party parliamentary delegation, headed by DMK MP Kanimozhi, was welcomed by Leonid Slutsky, the Chair of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs, along with other State Duma members.
The delegation included notable figures such as Samajwadi Party MP Rajeev Rai, BJP MP Captain Brijesh Chowkta, RJD MP Prem Chand Gupta, AAP MP Ashok Kumar Mittal, and former Ambassador Manjeev Singh Puri.
Engagement with Russian Senators
The delegation also had discussions with Andrey Denisov, the First Deputy Chair of the Federation Council Committee on Foreign Affairs, and other Russian senators in Moscow.
The Indian Embassy in Russia shared on social media, "Together in the fight against terrorism! All-Party Delegation led by Hon'ble MP @KanimozhiDMK in the Federation Council of the Russian Federation with First Deputy Chair of the Committee on International Affairs HE Andrey Denisov and other Senators."
